Specifically designed for Charities & Third Sector Organisations
Unfortunately, charities are a prime target for malicous cyber attacks, and are often faced with issues around the security and privacy of data held within. And, the impact of data breaches can be at best bad, and at worst catastrophic. Because not only is it costly from a financial perspective, but crippling from a reputational point of view and highly damaging for the people you are seeking to help.
By nature of being a charity – often involving lots of volunteers – there are lots of moving parts and individuals who need access to data, but aren’t always equipped with the knowledge to safeguard it.
Our specific data protection training for charities and other third sector organisations means that we can help you to put into place the right processes and training materials so that all full-time employees, supporters and volunteers can safguard that ever so important data. Every single person in your organisation has a roel to play, and it’s our job to arm them with the tools they need to keep your data as safe as possible.
From personal and localised charities to nationwide and international, safeguarding the data of those you want to help is not just important but vital, and we are here to help.
The findings revealed that UK charities can lose that much money every year as a result of cyber security breaches.
Imagine what amazing work you could do if you invested that money in helping more people.
Let us help you to help others.
Charities of any type and size can be at risk of a cyber attack or data breach. Just because you’re small, it doesn’t mean you’ll go unnoticed, and just because you’re large, it doesn’t mean you’re infaliable.
Thankfully though, there are a number of steps you can take you sure up your defences, train up your teams and safeguard your information.
Below we’ve listed a few of the key services your should consider when assessing your data protection and cyber security needs;
Cyber Security threats are one of charities’ greatest issues. And, the risks will only heighten should steps not be taken to minimise them.
A highly publicised example of the risks was the global WannaCry ransomware attack that hit third sector organisations and charities, costing them not only reputational damage, but even risk the charities’ very survival.
Ensuring that you have all of the neccessary training and processes in place for your staff is one part of the puzzle to protecting your organisation. The other comes in the form of the tools and software you are using, ensuring its updated and maintained.
At Cybata, we will help you with both the human and the technological aspects of your cyber security.
Every charity, whether local or national will have personal data that needs protecting. From medical records through to names and addresses.
In order for you to be able to effectively help those you wish, you need to provide a safe place for their data to be stored, shared and used. This means encrypting, limiting and monitoring access.
This can sound scary, but that’s where we come in. At Cybata, or job is to help charities like yours to protect your data so you can focus on helping those in your community.
Our experience working with charities and third sector organisations puts us in a unique position to help you manage your data effectively.
Chris assisted Anxiety UK by providing technical expertise for a recent data security review project which entailed reviewing security arrangements across a range of platforms and comprehensively overhauling the charity’s IT policy. Chris has a wealth of knowledge and expertise and exhibited a real ‘can-do’ approach to the work; operating in an approachable, efficient and friendly manner. Nicky Lidbetter CEO, Anxiety UK. I’ve worked with Chris through Age Connects Morgannwg for the past 2 years, as we developed our GDPR plans and training. Chris is a great communicator is a specialist in Cyber and Data Protection. He delivers engaging and exciting workshops that are suitable for senior managers, Boards of Directors and staff alike. Highly recommend. (July 12, 2019).
We have engaged Chris and his colleagues to support us in working towards GDPR compliance and can highly recommend them. They have a deep technical knowledge of GDPR balanced with pragmatic but insistent approach. The audit of our current position and subsequent workshop with lead managers has been hugely helpful and we will be exploring a longer term relationship (12th October 2018)
We recently commissioned Chris and his team to deliver a practical GDPR course for our supply chain partners. The course content was tailored for our sub-contractors and it left each with a GDPR compliance pack. The course explained the need for GDPR, how to keep data safe and how to react if personal data is breached. Feedback we received on the day included “Great Course, I didn’t think I’d learn so much in a morning”. This is high praise for what can be a very dry topic (27th November 2018)
Chris has provided training also to our staff, Board of Management and a GDPR sub group we developed in year made up of staff from across all our agencies. This has developed into Chris provided training to a number of our agencies all of which I know are extremely grateful for his support. (2nd October 2018)
This specific GDPR Training course is intended for anyone engaged in the management of a private individual’s information within their everyday role and supplies a GDPR overview.
Delegates will learn the essential standards and procedures under the legislation and what their duties and obligations include.
Although essential, GDPR training doesn’t have to be a chore, and this session will hopefully make you want to know even more.
Not every training session can be squarely placed into a box. Some cross lines, others need a highly-industry specific touch. And, that’s what we do with our detailed and specific courses and training sessions.
Sessions can be held in-person or online, and broken down into smaller bitesize sessions. Everything is customisable apart from the facts and the the outcomes.
