After becoming aware that Sport Wales work with Cybata, we at Hockey Wales invited Chris to deliver Data Protection & GDPR training.
Prior to our training we had little knowledge of GDPR and data protection legislations. We wanted somebody with the knowledge and expertise to help our team upskill. Myself and my colleagues were surprised at how engaging our training from Cybata was. Chris brought a ‘boring’ topic to life and kept us all engaged for the entire training session. He simplified what can often be difficult topics, making them easy to understand.
Since our training, Hockey Wales have made positive changes to the way we operate. We’ve improved our data management, and staff now have a greater awareness and understanding of their responsibility to keep data safe and secure.

I have known Chris for a while in a professional capacity when we met at a Privacy and Data Protection conference quite a few years back. Since then, we have often talked, bounced ideas and thoughts off each other and we have both really enjoyed and enthused about these interactions. We always hoped of some joint collaborative work in the future and I am glad to say that this desire manifested itself.
Chris performed some work for me for one of my start-up clients (Aistetic) when the project started late and meant that I did not have the bandwidth to undertake it solely myself due to other client constraints. I knew that Chris would be excellent for it and it proved just so. Not only did I see him in action working with the client in the highly professional manner I know he has, but having the ability to have deep meaningful scenario discussions on a joint collaboration client project just reaffirmed my thoughts and respect for him. Chris of Cybata delivered training on GDPR and Cyber Security for us. We needed delivery to be pitched at a level which would be appreciated by the small community groups and local charities we support, and Chris was able to deliver this. The training was presented in such a completely professional way that the information and vital skills needed were accessible to even our least ‘techy’ attendee. Attendees all left with practical actions which they could use to improve their organisation’s security, with a clear understanding of their responsibilities and some useful tools. The content of the session focused on the areas of most concern to our groups such as the use of password apps, securing client information, effective backups and how to make use of encrypted emails for commercially sensitive data. Chris used some effective videos and other relatable content which provoked some useful discussion. We recently commissioned Chris and his team to deliver a practical GDPR course for our supply chain partners. The course content was tailored for our sub-contractors and it left each with a GDPR compliance pack. The course explained the need for GDPR, how to keep data safe and how to react if personal data is breached. Chris Roberts at Cybata, in collaboration with Mostyn Thomas at Astrix Integrated Systems, provided invaluable support to Commonwealth Games England (CGE) with our aim of mitigating cyber risk as much as possible.
The team provided CGE with a comprehensive and detailed Cybersecurity Assessment Report. This report, written in a non-technical manner, enabled us to understand cyber threats and also provided a series of recommendations for each one. Armed with the report and Cybata’s expert assistance, CGE is now Cyber Essentials certified.

At Atradius, as part of our Compliance Awareness Programme, we wanted to provide further training to our staff to heighten awareness regarding GDPR & Cyber Security.

I recently attended immersive data protection/cyber security training organised by Chris Roberts of Cybata who helps businesses avoid data breaches which is becoming more and more a concern in the business community. This session only took a few hours out of my day and through a very practical and fun exercise working with several other businesses, we faced what can be everyday occurrences that help to highlight the potential risks we face. Clearly helping us to be more aware of the things to watch out for and things to do and not do in the way we use our technology and communicate with people.
